In 1977 Dieter Quester wins the European Touring Car Championship in the BMW ALPINA 3.5 "Gösser" CSL. ALPINA was active and very successful in touring car racing at the time, and the 1970s were a formative period for the still young company led by founder Burkard Bovensiepen.
